Mission statement
We are committed to providing excellent customer service ensuring a seamless process that enhances the overall student experience for training delivered at the VA Acquisition Academy for VA employees and our civilian federal government partners.

Mandatory Cornerstone on Demand (CSOD) Account Creation
As of October 15, 2021, the VAAA is mandating CSOD account creation for all students attending training offered by the VAAA. All students or organizations, whether or not they use CSOD for training or certification purposes, are required to have an active CSOD account to register, obtain a seat, and attend and receive a completion certificate in a VAAA session. VAAA will no longer offer or record dedicated instructor led training using VA’s Talent Management System (TMS).
How do I create a user account in order to access FAI CSOD?
Federal Government users, contractors, and foreign nationals must submit a System Authorization Access Request (SAAR) form to obtain an FAI CSOD user account. The FAI SAAR is available online at https://saar.dau.edu/. Refer to the SAAR Job Aid for guidance on how to complete the SAAR form.
Inclement weather policy
The VA Acquisition Academy follows the guidance of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and the Frederick County Maryland government during inclement weather and emergency situations. When determining operating status applicability, VAAA employees (to include students) and contractor support personnel (to include security guard personnel) should follow OPM guidance first. If inclement weather or emergency occurrences are specific to the Frederick County Maryland area, employees and contractors should follow the weather operating status of Frederick County government.
For more information, view the full inclement weather policy.
