Environmentally preferable purchasing, preferable purchasing, (EPP) can help to reduce adverse impacts to the environment, conserve energy and other natural resources, improve public health and safety, and create new markets and jobs. Per the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 23.107, agencies shall ensure compliance with statutory purchasing program requirements described in 23.107-1 through 23.107-4:
