Advisory Committee on Tribal and Indian Affairs, Solicitation of Nominations for the Appointment Extended

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Public and Intergovernmental Affairs (OPIA), Office of Tribal Government Relations (OTGR), is seeking nominations of qualified candidates to be considered for appointment as a member of the Advisory Committee on Tribal and Indian Affairs (“the Committee”) to represent the following Indian Health Service (IHS) Areas: Great Plains, Portland, Phoenix, Oklahoma City, Alaska, Albuquerque, Native Hawaiian, Urban Indian, and Member At-Large.

Nominations for membership on the Committee must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. EST on August 31, 2025.

Advisory Committee on Disability Compensation

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) gives notice under the Federal Advisory Committee Act, 5 U.S.C. Ch. 10, that the Advisory Committee on Disability Compensation (hereinafter the Committee) will hold virtual meeting sessions on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, and Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

The purpose of the Committee is to advise the Secretary of Veterans Affairs on the maintenance and periodic readjustment of the VA Schedule for Rating Disabilities (VASRD). The Committee is to assemble and review relevant information relating to the nature and character of disabilities arising during service in the Armed Forces, provide an ongoing assessment of the effectiveness of the rating schedule, and give advice on the most appropriate means of responding to the needs of Veterans relating to disability compensation.

Rehabilitation Research and Development Service Scientific Merit Review Board

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) gives notice under the Federal Advisory Committee Act, 5 U.S.C. 10, that a meeting of the Rehabilitation Research and Development Service (RR&D) Scientific Merit Review Board will meet virtually via Webex.

The objective of the Board is to provide for the fair and equitable selection of the most meritorious research projects for support by VA research funds and to offer advice for research program officials on program priorities and policies. The ultimate objective of the Board is to ensure that the VA rehabilitation research program promotes functional independence and improves the quality of life for impaired and disabled Veterans.
