The Women Veteran Authors Book Corner Initiative was established to create a vibrant community where women Veterans can unite in support of their sister Veteran authors, celebrate their stories, and learn from their unique journeys. This initiative aims to shine a spotlight on the extraordinary contributions of women Veterans in all capacities, increasing awareness of the talented authors among us and providing them a platform to connect, share their love of literature, and inspire future writers.

The core purpose of this initiative is to honor women Veterans who have become published authors; to create a supportive space for women Veterans passionate about reading and writing to encourage one another; and to inspire more women Veterans to find their voice through the powerful medium of writing. Together, we amplify their narratives, foster a culture of literary creativity, and empower the next generation of women Veterans to express their unique experiences and perspectives.

We are interested in all genres including, Literary Fiction, Mystery/Thriller, Sci-Fi, Historical Fiction, Children’s Literature, Memoir/Autobiography, Self-Help, Travel, Cooking and many more.

*Please Note: Due to the number of submissions and legal guidelines we cannot highlight every book submitted, you will be contacted if your book is selected and notified of when it will be published on VA News and CWV social media.

How to participate

To get started:

• Fill in the “About the Veteran and her book” section. Please ensure to use full sentences, proper grammar, and no profanity.
• Fill in your replies to each question with full sentences, proper grammar, and no profanity.
• If you use an AI tool to write any of your replies please include the following disclosure at the bottom: “A portion of this story was generated by AI. None of the data we reported included personal or sensitive information, and it was fact-checked and edited by a human copy editor prior to publishing.”

Once completed, please send the submission form to 00w@va.gov with the Subject: “Women Veterans Book Corner.”

• Include a high-resolution photo of you, preferably the one used for your book biography, and a photograph of the book cover.
• Include an E-Copy of your book with your submission.

Please include as much of the requested material as possible, as it is necessary to complete and publish it on our site. Please answer each question with full sentences, as we will turn your submission into a blog that will be shared on VA News
