Angie was sexually assaulted while serving in the Army, and for 10 years used alcohol and drugs to cope with the resulting post-traumatic stress disorder. She sought help from VA and was in treatment within a week. She’s been in recovery for five years and has since married. [07/02/2015]

BriGette and her daughter faced many health challenges, and the medical expenses strained the family’s budget. Financial stress led BriGette to go to VA for her prescriptions. Lidia’s Story – Moving Past Homelessness and Depression
Lidia, a Navy Veteran, lost a close fellow sailor in the USS Cole bombing. After her service, she lost her civilian job and became homeless and depressed.
