Janna Bowman serves as Executive Director of the Center for Faith within the Office of the Secretary, a role she assumed on May 18, 2026. In this capacity, she leads the Department of Veterans Affairs’ efforts to ensure Veterans have access to faith-based resources, safeguard religious liberty, and integrate faith communities into the broader continuum of care and support. She advances the Secretary’s priorities by strengthening partnerships across federal, state, and local faith offices, national faith-based organizations, houses of worship, and community leaders. Through coordinated outreach, including national and hosted events and weekly webinars, she connects Veterans and faith leaders nationwide to expand engagement and support.

Prior to this appointment, Ms. Bowman served as the Director of the Center for Faith in the Office of Entrepreneurial Development at the U.S. Small Business Administration, where she established SBA’s inaugural Center for Faith and built its national engagement strategy. In this role, she launched the agency’s Faith & Fellowship Prayer Service, worked with SBA’s Office of Disaster Recovery and Resilience to expand faith outreach to houses of worship by creating the Faith-Based Resilience guide. Prior to the U.S. Small Business Administration, she was Founder and Chief Executive Officer of J. Duck Solutions for over 20 years. As a consultant, she advised nonprofit, faith based, and small business leaders on strategic initiatives, brand messaging, operational systems, and customer engagement. Her work helped organizations navigate complex, large scale efforts and achieve long term, scalable impact.

Prior to J. Duck Solutions, Ms. Bowman served in leadership positions with the Family Research Council, Patrick Henry College, and Prison Fellowship Ministries, where she directed statewide and national outreach campaigns, donor and community engagement strategies, and large scale events that mobilized volunteers and strengthened partnerships with religious and community leaders.
