Ms. David serves as Director of VA Privacy Service, where she leads department-wide efforts to embed privacy considerations in VA policy, program planning, operations, and stakeholder communication; and advises on matters having privacy impact. Ms. David establishes and directs short and long-term goals for VA’s Privacy Program to effectively safeguard the personal information of Veterans, employees, and other VA stakeholders. VA Privacy Service advocates strategies that strengthen privacy, transparency and accountability throughout the information life cycle from collection to destruction of personally identifiable information. Privacy Service executes its mission through policy development and implementation, privacy risk identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting, incident management, communication and outreach, and personnel training. VA’s privacy professionals work across three VA Administrations (Health, Benefits, and National Cemeteries) and through more than 400 privacy officers serving as “privacy ambassadors” at the forefront of data privacy and information protection.
