Ms. Kaplan serves as the Executive Director, Actuarial Services in the Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Management, and reports to the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Management & Deputy CFO. In this role, she is responsible for providing professional oversight on VBA’s actuarial liabilities recorded in the agency financial statements, and for producing VHA’s actuarial liabilities and Community Care cost studies. She is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries, a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries, and an Associate of the Society of Actuaries.
Prior to joining VA in 2019, Ms. Kaplan worked for the Department of Defense Office of the Actuary where she was responsible for the actuarial work required for financial reporting, funding, and cost estimates for the military health system including TRICARE, TRICARE for Life and US Family Health Plan.
