Brandye serves as VBA’s Chief of Staff (COS). As COS, she provides executive leadership, guidance, and direction to all VBA organizations, ensuring efficient execution of all functional programs. The COS represents the Under Secretary for Benefits and Principal Deputy Under Secretary for Benefits in the analysis and implementation of policies, operational activities and budgetary proposals to effectively carry out the mission and goals of the Department and VBA.
Prior to this appointment as Chief of Staff, Brandye served as VBA’s Deputy Chief of Staff, responsible for executive oversight of VBA’s human resources, employee development, emergency preparedness, capital facilities development and planning, acquisitions, controlled correspondence, strategic communications and legislative activities. Previously, she served as Deputy Director for VBA’s Education Service, where she oversaw the GI Bill education programs to include oversight of policy, procedures, training, systems development, outreach and operations.
Terrell began her VA career as a Veterans claims examiner processing VA education benefits in the Atlanta Regional Processing Office in 2002. Since that time, she’s served in several different positions. As the Regulation Development team lead in Education Service, she coordinated the development and implementation of Post-9/11 GI Bill rules. She’s also an alumna of VBA’s Leadership Enhancement and Development Program.
