Ervin Pearson was appointed Executive Director, Office of Mission Support (OMS) on March 13, 2022. Mr. Pearson is the principal advisor to the Under Secretary for Benefits and other key officials within the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) and Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) on all matters pertaining to Administration, Acquisitions, Facilities, and Emergency Preparedness programs and policies for VBA. Mr. Pearson’s office provides expertise in Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Privacy, Records, Procurement, Safety, Security, Watch Operations and Facilities management across the enterprise.

Prior to serving in his current role, Mr. Pearson was the Deputy Chief Financial Officer, Office of Financial Management. In this role, he provided expert advice and counsel in all financial management matters related to Veterans Benefits Administration’s $158 billion budget; supporting numerous activities and initiatives to improve the Administration’s operations. The budget also supports more than 25,300 employees focused on providing benefits and services to Veterans, Servicemembers, and their families. He led a team of 216 employees and was responsible for providing executive oversight and direction of VBA’s budget including finance, accounting, enterprise risk management, and fraud, waste, and abuse operations.

From 1975 to 2007, Mr. Pearson served in the United States Army. During his thirty-two years in service, he commanded two Companies, two Battalions, and a Brigade eventually retiring as the Vice Director, Army Staff, the Pentagon.

Mr. Pearson received the United States Distinguished Service Medal award and a recipient of four Legion of Merit awards.
