Missina Schallus serves as the Communications Manager at the Center for Women Veterans. She develops, plans and coordinates the Center’s internal and external engagements, events, initiatives and announcements. She supports special projects related to key program initiatives and provides direct support to the Director. She manages speeches, briefings and implements Secretarial high priorities to involve women Veterans for the Center’s Social Media platforms and website. She is also responsible for various duties promoting the Center’s efforts to monitor VA’s administration of benefits, services, and policies for women Veterans.
Ms. Schallus served in the U.S. Navy for 21 years, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer and is an OIF/OEF Veteran. Ms. Schallus has an associates of arts degree in Supervision and Management and Associates of Science degree in Office Support Specialist, Administrative Manager from Coastline College and is currently pursuing her bachelor of arts in Communication Studies at the University of Maryland Global College. Ms. Schallus is the mother of three children and a proud Navy Mom.
