John Figueroa is a visionary leader with 35 years of experience in healthcare, specializing in pharmacy services, hospital supply chain logistics, and the broader healthcare ecosystem. He was the Founder, CEO, and Executive Chairman of CarepathRx, a company dedicated to innovative pharmacy solutions for hospital health systems, focusing on specialty, infusion, and home-based pharmaceutical care. Under his leadership, CarepathRx successfully completed major transactions, including selling portions of the company to Anthem Healthcare and Cigna, while retaining AnewHealth, a leading company in long-term in-home care for chronically ill patients.

Prior to CarepathRx, Mr. Figueroa served as CEO and Board Member at Genoa Healthcare, the nation’s largest behavioral health pharmacy and telepsychiatry provider. During his tenure from 2014 to 2018, he led the company’s expansion to 425 pharmacies, growing revenue to $2 billion, and making an impact on the quality of care for severely mentally ill patients. His leadership ultimately resulted in the sale of Genoa Healthcare to UnitedHealth Group.

His executive career also includes serving as Chairman and CEO of Apria Healthcare, where he oversaw operations in home infusion and respiratory therapy. He played a pivotal role in selling the Coram Home Infusion Business to CVS Caremark and the respiratory business to Owens & Minor. Additionally, he was the CEO and Board Member of Omnicare, a Fortune 400 healthcare services company, where he achieved record earnings growth, increased market capitalization, and led major strategic initiatives in the Long-Term Care segment.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Figueroa held multiple leadership roles at McKesson Corporation, ultimately serving as President of its U.S. Pharmaceutical Group, the largest pharmaceutical distribution business in the world, generating over $90 billion in revenue. He successfully led new business development, M&A activities, and market expansion.

Mr. Figueroa was a Commissioned Officer, a Ranger, and served with the 3rd Infantry Division and the 12th Special Forces Group. His military service includes command and operations in the United States, Europe, and Central America.

He remains active in academia serving as Distinguished Visiting Faculty, is on the Board of Directors, and is the Endowed Chair for The Business of Healthcare at Pepperdine University Graziadio Business School. He is also a guest lecturer at Wharton and Stanford Business Schools.
