
Ms. Ana Claudio is the Deputy Director for the Center for Women Veterans, where she plays a pivotal role in supporting and enhancing the mission and vision of the Center. Ms. Claudio is dedicated to honoring the significant contributions of women Veterans and servicemembers and emphasizes the importance of treating women Veterans with the utmost dignity and respect.
In her role, Ms. Claudio leads the supervision, development, and performance of the staff, while also overseeing a variety of organizational and strategic planning initiatives. Her efforts are pivotal in advancing the Center’s mission and ensuring the successful achievement of its objectives.
Before stepping into her current role, Ms. Claudio served as the Global Outreach Manager. In this capacity, she was instrumental in expanding the Center’s outreach efforts across the Department of Veterans Affairs and collaborating with other federal, state, and local officials. She directed the Center for Women Veterans Trailblazers initiative, expanding its reach to include 97 distinguished women veterans from across the United States, Puerto Rico, Germany, and American Samoa. Her visionary leadership and dedication were pivotal in recognizing and celebrating the significant achievements and contributions of women veterans on a global scale.
Prior to her distinguished federal service career, Ms. Claudio served as the Executive Assistant to the Director of Acquisition Talent Management under the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development, and Acquisition. In this capacity, she adeptly managed the Director’s executive calendar and directed office functions, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities. Her meticulous coordination fostered a responsive and seamless workflow, significantly enhancing the efficacy of policy and program decision-making processes.
Ms. Claudio has a distinguished 24-year career in the U.S. Navy, culminating in her retirement with the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer. Throughout her service, she provided exceptional administrative leadership and guidance to both enlisted sailors and officers, exemplifying the highest standards of service and professionalism. Ms. Claudio is also a devoted mother. Her daughter, Ms. Naia Smith, is an accomplished graduate of The Pennsylvania State University and currently serves as a Medical Laboratory Scientist I in Microbiology. Ms. Claudio takes great pride in her daughter’s academic achievements and professional contributions to the healthcare field.
