Jessica Bonjorni became the Acting ADUSH for Workforce Services on April 18, 2018. In this capacity, Ms. Bonjorni leads the strategic integration of Workforce Management and Consulting, Employee Education System, National Center for Organization Development, Office of Academic Affiliations, and the Healthcare Leadership Talent Institute to support the human capital systems for more than 333,000 VHA employees and over 120,000 health professions trainees. As the ADUSH, Ms. Bonjorni provides guidance, information, and consultation to VHA Central Office components, VHA health care facilities, Veterans Integrated Service Networks, and external entities such as VHA’s academic affiliations, health professional organizations, Congress and other Federal agencies. She has oversight of a $1.2 billion dollar budget and 970+ personnel situated in 42 states across the nation.
Prior to her appointment, Ms. Bonjorni served as the Chief Officer for VHA’s Workforce Management & Consulting. In this capacity, she oversaw VHA’s human capital management, systems, operations, and oversight to enable delivery of outstanding care for Veterans and their families. This included developing and serving VHA’s HR community; providing thoughtful leadership, advocacy, and direct assistance to VHA’s workforce; and, bringing the right people together to address complex human capital and workforce management needs.
Ms. Bonjorni began her federal service in 2006 through a leadership development program at the Federal Bureau of Investigation, where she served as a management advisor on strategy and process improvements to senior leaders, including the Chief Human Capital Officer. While at the Department of Justice, Ms. Bonjorni served in both business operations and strategic advisory roles across the agency. During her tenure at DOJ, Ms. Bonjorni focused on delivering exceptional performance management, employee engagement, and hiring process improvements. Prior to joining federal service, Ms. Bonjorni worked as a project manager, consultant, and analyst focusing on federal housing programs and community development in the private sector.
Ms. Bonjorni is certified as both a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and Project Management Professional (PMP).
