Ms. La’ Toya Prieur was appointed as the Deputy Executive Director of Human Resources Operations with the Veterans Benefits Administration on June 19, 2022. Ms. Prieur serves as the principal advisor to the Office of Human Capital Services Executive Director on Title 5 recruitment, staffing, personnel action processing, and benefits. This includes policy development, planning, directing, implementation, compliance, and oversight of all Federal and VA recruitment and staffing operations.
Ms. Prieur has over sixteen years of dedicated service working for the Department of Veterans Affairs – serving both the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) and the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) throughout her career. Her previous roles include serving as the Director, VBA’s Office of Staff Operations; Deputy Director, VHA’s Finance and Business Operations Service; Program Analyst, VHA’s Executive Resources and Staffing; Chief, VBA’s Military and Veteran Outreach; Executive Management Officer, VBA’s Office of Resource Management; and Senior Human Resources Specialist, VBA’s Human Resources Center in Detroit, MI.
Ms. Prieur served as an active duty enlisted member of the U.S. Army and in the Ohio National Guard where she was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
Ms. Prieur, who is originally from northern California, is a graduate of the University of Phoenix holding a Master of Science in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. She currently resides in Maryland.
