Laura L. O’Shea was appointed as Senior Management Advisor in the Veterans Benefits Administration in August 2019. She has served as a Senior Management Advisor to the Principal Deputy Under Secretary for Benefits and the VBA Chief of Staff. In her current position she provides leadership and management support to VBA’s Office of Policy and Oversight. She provides support for the development and evaluation of policies, plans, regulations, standards, and procedures necessary to effectively implement programs in the area of VA benefits and services for Veterans, family members, and survivors.

Laura has a long history with VA having served in various positions within VBA, Veterans Health Administration, and at the Department level. She has extensive experience in policy development and analysis, survey design and administration, inter- and intra- agency collaboration, resource management, data analysis, community engagement, and customer experience.

In 2020, she was instrumental in establishing a suicide prevention focus within VBA and in 2019 she helped stand up VBA’s Customer Experience (CX) Office. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Forrester CXPro I.
