
Michele B. Terry serves as the Outreach Program Manager to the Executive Director of the Center for Women Veterans. In accordance with the Center’s Congressional mandate (Public Law 103-44 6), she performs outreach nationwide to women Veterans, assuring that all outreach activities are consistent with the Department’s goals.
She develops and implements guidance on program planning and evaluation in outreach; develops plans, and effectively coordinates special projects; and initiatives within the Center for Women Veterans. Additionally, she leads and manages the Center’s monthly National Partners and Stakeholders Meetings, which serve as essential platforms for collaboration and open dialogue. The partners and stakeholders involved in these meetings play a crucial role in enhancing the Center’s ability to achieve its goals for women Veterans, particularly in outreach and support services. She serves as the primary point of contact and staff liaison for women Veterans, with an emphasis on those in underserved populations by actively participating as a CWV representative at conferences, workshops, and other targeted outreach events.
Ms. Terry began her federal service at the Center in 2007 as a Program Support Specialist. Her extensive career with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has provided her with rewarding opportunities to serve women veterans across the country. Throughout her extensive career at the Center, she has engaged with various VA task forces and committees, emerging as a dedicated advocate for organizations that address the challenges faced by women Veterans. Before joining the Center for Women Veterans, Ms. Terry worked in the private sector within the Chlor-Alkali Industry as a Publications Manager. Additionally, she served as the Executive Assistant to the President at the Local Government Insurance Trust and held the position of Executive Assistant in Sales/Marketing, Catering, and One Stop Shop at Woodley Park Hotel.
Ms. Terry is the proud mother of one son, Mr. Jay Terry, who served honorably in the U.S. Navy as a Corpsman. Mr. Terry continues to dedicate himself to the health and well-being of others, now as a nurse in Virginia Beach, providing home health care to our nation’s Veterans.
