Pete Kasperowicz became the VA Assistant Secretary for Public and Intergovernmental Affairs on April 15, 2026. In this role he leads VA’s communications with Veterans, the public, employees, and the news media and manages VA’s relationships with state, local, tribal insular, and international governments.
In January 2025, Mr. Kasperowicz rejoined VA as press secretary where he oversaw media relations with national and local news outlets.
He was VA’s lead speechwriter during the first Trump Administration, and most recently served as media relations director for the American Hotel & Lodging Association and politics editor for Fox News Digital. He previously served as communications director for the Association of the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Kasperowicz brings more than 20 years of experience in Washington as a politics and policy reporter and editor. His work spans several national news organizations, including Fox News Digital, the Washington Examiner, The Blaze, The Hill, Thomson Reuters, and Inside Washington Publishers.
