Ms. Riffel is the senior executive for FMBTS. She is responsible for the FMBT program and the delivery of the Integrated Financial and Acquisition Management System (iFAMS) to the VA Enterprise. This is a multibillion-dollar implementation being done in partnership with VA Administrations and Staff Offices, delivering VA’s first integrated solution for financial and acquisition management activities. Under Ms. Riffel’s leadership, FMBT has conducted five successful iFAMS implementations on schedule and within budget. As of December 2022, there are almost 4,000 system users across VA Administrations and Staff Offices.
A public servant with VA for 37 years, Ms. Riffel was executive director of the Financial Services Center (FSC) prior to her appointment to FMBT in July 2018. Ms. Riffel has led multiple enterprise transformations for VA, including WebTA, retiring three legacy time-and-attendance systems, and eTravel, replacing two legacy systems. At FSC, she established the medical claims product line, servicing VA and other Federal agencies, to help reduce the claims backlog at the Veterans Health Administration (VHA).
Ms. Riffel graduated from Park University in Missouri with a Bachelor of Science in accounting management and is a project management professional.
