The Secretary of Veterans Affairs oversees VA in its mission to provide health, education, disability, funerary, and financial benefits earned by Veterans of the United States Armed Forces.

The Deputy Secretary of Veterans Affairs is the second-highest-ranking officer and serves as the Chief Operating Officer.

The VA Chief of Staff serves as the top advisor to the Secretary and helps guide all aspects of the department’s operations.
Administrations
The National Cemetery Administration makes sure those who served this nation are never forgotten by providing dignified burial services for Veterans and eligible members and maintaining more than 150 cemeteries.
The Veterans Benefits Administration helps service members transition out of military service, and assists with Veterans with education, home loans, life insurance and much more.
The Veterans Health Administration is the largest integrated health care network in the United States, with 1,255 health care facilities serving 9 million enrolled Veterans each year.
Staff Offices
The Advisory Committee Management Office provides guidance and support to VA’s federal advisory committees which are a key component of VA’s overall strategy to achieve stakeholder and public engagement.
The Board of Veterans Appeals conducts hearings and decides appeals filed by Veterans.
The VA Electronic Health Record Modernization Integration Office oversees the modernization of VA’s electronic health record system with a commercial solution to improve Veteran health care quality and promote interoperability.
The Office of Accountability and Whistleblower Protection promotes and improves accountability within VA.
The Office of Acquisition, Logistics, and Construction is a multifunctional organization responsible for directing the acquisition, logistics, construction, and leasing functions within VA.
The Office of Congressional and Legislative Affairs (OCLA) is the Congressional coordination focal point for VA. Assistance to Members of Congress and their staff is available through offices located at the VA Central Office and on Capitol Hill.
The Office of Employment Discrimination Complaint Adjudication independently and objectively reviews the merits of employment discrimination claims filed by present and former VA employees and non-agency applicants for employment.
The Office of General Counsel ensures the just and faithful execution of the laws, regulations and policies that the Secretary has responsibility for administering and enables VA to accomplish its mission of service to our Nation’s Veterans.
The Office of Human Resources and Administration sets the strategic direction and articulates a vision that places the VA Human Resources community at the cornerstone of VA's mission of care and service to the nation’s Veterans and their families.
The Office of Information and Technology (OIT) provides information technology services to the Department and collaborates with its business partners to create the best experience for stakeholders.

The Office of Regulation and Policy Management provides centralized management and control for the formulation and publication of all VA Regulations.
The Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization develops policies and programs that maximizes the participation of Veteran-owned business in VA and federal contracting.
The Office of Survivor’s Assistance serves as a resource regarding all benefits and services furnished by VA to Survivors and Dependents of deceased Veterans and members of the Armed Forces.
The Office of the Inspector General serves Veterans and the public by conducting meaningful independent oversight of VA.
The VA History Office manages an overarching history initiative in a collaborative effort that includes VA’s three Administrations: Veterans Health Administration, Veterans Benefits Administration, and National Cemetery Administration.
The Veterans Experience Office leverages customer experience data, tools, technology, and engagement to allow Service members, Veterans, their families, caregivers and survivors to choose VA as their health care provider.
