The lifecycle tracker walks you through the phases of creating and updating policies. It aligns tools and templates to steps in the publishing process.
Identify the Policy Need
What this step requires:
Begin by documenting the rationale for policy action and confirming that an enterprise-level issuance is appropriate. Use the official EPMO templates to ensure the correct structure, required sections, accessibility, and formatting.
How EPMO supports this step:
- Maintains current official policy templates that comply with 508 accessibility, EXECSEC Style Guide, and VA formatting standards.
- Provides consultative support for IPT formation and helps determine whether an enterprise issuance and which issuance type are appropriate.
