About the Veterans Benefits Administration

The Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) is one of three Administrations forming the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. We offer a wide range of benefits to our Nation’s Veterans, Service members, and their families and survivors.

We employ approximately 35,000 people nationwide. Of these, over 50% are Veterans, and many more are closely related to Veterans.

VBA administers the full spectrum of VA benefits (excluding healthcare) including: Disability compensation, pensions, education (GI Bill), training and employment, home loan guaranty, burial allowances, life insurance and dependents and survivors’ benefits. VBA offers services specifically for transitioning Servicemembers.

Mission

Our mission is to serve as a leading advocate for Servicemembers, Veterans, their families and Survivors, delivering with excellence Veteran-centered and personalized benefits and services that honor their service, assist in their readjustment, enhance their lives, and engender their full trust.

Vision

Our vision is to fulfill our Nation’s promise to those who serve by delivering the benefits and services they have earned to enable full, independent, and productive lives.
