Acquisition, Logistics, and Construction
The Office of Acquisition, Logistics, and Construction (OALC) directs the acquisition, logistics, construction, and leasing functions within VA. OALC has two fundamental roles:
- Operational-Providing acquisition, logistics, construction, and leasing support to VA’s administrations and staff offices allowing them to accomplish their missions.
- Oversight-Ensuring VA complies with laws, policies, and directions from executive branch partners, such as the Office of Management and Budget, Department of Treasury, General Services Administration, Government Accountability Office, and Congress.

Our Offices
The Office of Acquisition and Logistics (OAL) is responsible for the Department’s acquisition and logistics policy development and enforcement functions.
The Office of Construction and Facilities Management (CFM) is responsible for the planning, design, and construction of all major construction projects greater than $20 million. CFM also acquires real property for use by VA through the purchase of land and buildings and long-term lease acquisitions.
The Office of Procurement, Acquisition and Logistics (OPAL) provides comprehensive, strategic acquisition support for VA’s highly complex requirements, including strategic Information Technology and medical systems.
The Acquisition Academy addresses the growing acquisition workforce challenge facing VA and the Federal Government overall.
