About VHA Clinical Services
VHA Clinical Services, headquartered in VA’s Central Office, is one of seven major program offices overseeing the delivery of care to more than nine million enrolled Veterans. Led by the Assistant Under Secretary for Health for Clinical Services and VHA’s Chief Medical Officer, Clinical Services provides national leadership for clinical programs and the necessary coordination with leaders across the enterprise, integrated clinical community committees and service-based communities of practice.
Our motto, The Heart of Veteran Care, is inspired by the servant leaders, providers and staff who put their heart into serving Veterans, either face-to-face or behind the scenes — day in and day out.
Purpose
Clinical Services defines policy and provides oversight for the many VHA clinical programs that make up the heart of Veteran care. Additionally, Clinical Services enables the professional development of clinicians and leaders to optimize the operational strength of the VA healthcare system to help provide Veterans, families and caregivers with the highest-quality health care.
