What we do
OPAL provides comprehensive, strategic acquisition support for VA’s highly complex requirements, including strategic Information Technology and medical systems.
OPAL also participates in the recommendations of policies, plans, and strategies for VA-wide application on contract administration, acquisition planning, procurement, and contract administration in connection with acquiring supplies, equipment and services required for the provision of providing benefits and medical care to the nation’s Veterans. OPAL primarily focuses on providing customers with value-added acquisition and logistics business solutions.

Organizations
National Acquisition Center
Located in Hines, IL, the National Acquisition Center provides dedicated and program management expertise and support for health care requirements of the VA and other government agencies.
Strategic Acquisition Center
With offices in Fredericksburg, VA, and Frederick, MD, the Strategic Acquisition Center provides dedicated acquisition and program management expertise and support for life cycle management of non-IT enterprise-wide solutions for VA’s highly complex requirements and strategically sound contracts.
Technology Acquisition Center
Located in Eatontown, NJ, the Technology Acquisition Center provides dedicated acquisition and program management expertise and support for life cycle management of enterprise-wide solutions in information and technology for the VA Enterprise.
Logistics Support Service
Located in Washington, DC, the Logistics Support Service provides specified logistics support services and oversees centralized programs pertaining to printing and publications, general freight management, employee relocations and movement of household goods, and small package express delivery
