A comforting hand on another’s back, representing help for homeless Veterans through VA homeless programs.

VA Homeless Programs

No Veteran should be homeless in the country they swore an oath to defend. That’s why VA is committed to ending homelessness among Veterans.

Through a range of homeless-related Veteran services, VA provides help for Veterans and their families through access to secure, stable housing and other supportive services.

Contact VA for help

If you are a Veteran who is homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness, we strongly encourage you to contact the National Call Center for Homeless Veterans at 877-424-3838 for assistance.

The call is free, confidential, and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Trained professionals are standing by to connect you to your nearest VA for help.

Walk for Wellness: 16th Annual VA2K Walk & Roll

This May, join the annual VA2K Walk & Roll event at VA facilities nationwide and take steps toward better health. This free event—featuring a 2-kilometer walk at many locations—brings VA employees, Veterans, and communities together to promote an active lifestyle while supporting VA’s ongoing efforts to end Veteran homelessness through voluntary food and clothing donations.
