Annual homelessness goals

Each year, VA sets homelessness goals to continue our significant progress in ending Veteran homelessness.

#OneTeam4 Vets All Hands on Deck Calls

To support our collective work to reduce and end Veteran homelessness, the VHA Homeless Programs Office is hosting its #OneTeam4Vets All Hands on Deck Call series.

For questions about this series, email HomelessVets@va.gov.

One Team Operational Framework

The Homeless Programs Office’s One Team Operational Framework Implementation Toolkit provides a way to coordinate and unify actions and interconnection between all VA and community-based homeless programs toward the joint mission to end Veteran Homelessness.

Unsheltered surges

The VA Homeless Programs Office Toolkit to Support Unsheltered and Housing Surges guides VA Health Systems in planning and implementing local Unsheltered or Housing Surge events as part of the national effort to end Veteran homelessness. It outlines expectations, best practices, and resources to help sites build on the momentum of the Getting Veterans Off the Streets (GVOTS) initiative and ensures every Veteran has access to safe, stable housing.

By-name lists

To reach an end to Veteran homelessness, communities must have a full account of all Veterans who are experiencing literal homelessness. BNL management practices have a direct effect on a given community’s ability to end homelessness among Veterans. A quality BNL assists in understanding the universe of people for whom VA and VA-funded programs are looking to provide support and aid that link those Veterans to housing and resources.
